Happy? Halloween...

On Friday I headed to the mall with the kids, my mom and Brenda's kids. We stopped to have lunch. Everything was going fine the kids were surprisingly good and quiet (well, quieter than usual). It mus have been the calm before the storm because, how to I put this , Carter "exploded" all over the table, his lunch, his clothes and the floor. Thank goodness we were in the corner with no one else around. I was trying to get Carter cleaned up while he was crying because he wanted to finish his lunch (I don't think so!) and he wanted the motorcycle that came with his happy meal. I stripped him down to his underwear put on a jacket and high tailed it out of there! (I did clean up the mess, so someone else wouldn't happen upon it)

So needless to say we did not take part in Halloween festivities this year. In fact we had to turn out our lights (not the porch light because I wouldn't want people to think we were sex offenders) and hide in the family room because I didn't buy any candy to hand out. Once while I was putting Kate to bed someone rang the door bell, Carter grabbed his chair and took it to the window to see who it was, as I was yelling at him to get away from the window he wanted to know why there was a pirate and a monster at our house. The trick or treaters had obviously seen us and knew we were home but I still didn't answer the door.

I know you're all tired of this super long post so I post a few of the not so great shots of the kids in their Halloween gear. Carter is a "cooker" and Kate is a lobster, the plan was to have her in a pot so Carter could "cook" her, but nobody wanted to cooperate for pictures.

So cute!! I'm glad we waited to "explode" till Sunday night! I wouldn't want to hear about it ALL YEAR LONG if we didn't get to go Trick-or-treating!!!!
I hope Carter is feeling better!

Aww... the costumes were cute! I left a bowl of candy on our front porch while we were out, and still didn't get one person.

Your kids look awesome! What a fun idea. So cute! That's funny that you hid in your house and how funny Carter looked through the window and saw monsters knocking on the door. What a funny story. Hope next year turns out much better for you than this year was.
